How to Pick Flowers for a New Orleans Elopement Wedding

The bouquet is one of the most iconic elements of your elopement—a centuries-old tradition that creates elegant, timeless photographic moments. To ensure your flowers look as vibrant in your photos as they do in person, Elope to NOLA specializes in seasonal, high-quality floral design.

Why Seasonal Matters

New Orleans elopements often take place in sun-drenched courtyards and historic streets. In Louisiana’s unique climate, seasonal flowers are not just a choice—they are a guarantee of quality. By focusing on local availability, we ensure your bouquet is fresh, hardy, and resilient.

Our Signature Blooms

Expect beautiful varieties like Roses, Peruvian Lilies, Gerbera Daisies, Hydrangeas, Lisianthus, and delicate fillers like Baby’s Breath.

The Color Palette

Instead of stressing over specific petals, simply select your color theme. Our florist will then curate the best available blooms for your wedding month.

The Fixer’s Insight: We intentionally avoid flowers that wilt quickly in humidity (like Magnolias) or struggle with travel (like Lilies). This professional curation ensures your bouquet stays “camera-ready” from the first look to the final toast.

Customization & Expert Care

THE DESIGN PROCESS

  • The Substitution Rule: If a specific flower is unavailable (e.g., pink roses), our florist will expertly maintain your color theme using a high-end alternative or custom ribbon accents.
  • Premium Requests: Specific exotic or out-of-season flowers may be available upon request (subject to market price and additional upgrade fees).
  • Built for NOLA: Every bouquet is designed to withstand the outdoor atmosphere of New Orleans’ most beautiful squares and parks.

Hi, I’m Marcia. Born and raised in New Orleans, I know this city better than most. I know about all the hidden courtyards, the best time of year to elope, and the instagram-worthy photography locations that bring it all to life.
As a New Orleans elopement wedding photographer, I’ve photographed over 350 elopements. From spontaneous street parades to private vows in quiet gardens, I’ve seen what makes a wedding unforgettable and I make sure you feel that ease every step of the way.

I’ve fixed timelines, pinned boutonnières, and even found a last-minute bowtie when a groom needed one. You can count on me to bring experience, a friendly attitude, and intention to your day.

I started this work after Hurricane Katrina destroyed our family’s photo albums. That loss taught me how powerful one image can be. So I document every elopement like it’s the most important story I’ll ever tell because for you, it is.

I’ll be your calm in the storm, your guide through the process, and your hype woman when you need it. Also, I’m a Scorpio, so yes—I will have a backup plan for your backup plan 🙂

At Elope to NOLA, we’re all about ditching the stress and dialing up the fun. Whether you’re dreaming of a ceremony under ancient oaks or sneaking away to a hidden courtyard in the French Quarter, we’ve got you covered. Permits? Handled. Photos? Gorgeous. Flowers? Oh yeah. All those little New Orleans details that give your day actual character—we take care of it all.
