Welcome to Ibay Photography, a female-led elopement team specializing exclusively in New Orleans elopements and intimate weddings. Since 2014, our
Experience a New Orleans elopement steeped in history and romance as you say “I do” in the heart of the iconic French Quarter.
Imagine standing hand-in-hand in the gates of the historic Jackson Square with the stunning St. Louis Cathedral as your witness and the sounds of a jazz musician playing softly nearby. Picture the beautiful architecture, the iconic street artists and the unforgettable energy of the city’s heart all coming together for your moment. Does that vision feel like the perfect fit for your love story? Yeah, we thought so.
Jackson Square isn’t just a place; it’s the very soul of the city, and your love story will become a part of its rich tapestry. With our Jackson Square elopement packages, we make it easy for you to step into this magic, blending simple planning with exceptional service. It’s all about creating a day that feels as incredible as it looks.
Planning your elopement should be fun, not a headache. The good news is, we handle all the details so you can focus on each other.
Permits & Fees: A permit is required for all ceremonies in Jackson Square. The fee is based on the number of people in your group. We will assist with obtaining the paperwork and ensure everything is squared away for your day.
2-25 people: The permit fee is $250.00 + a damage deposit
26-100 people: The permit fee is $500.00 + damage deposit
Best Time of Day: We always recommend eloping in the early morning or about an hour before sunset. The light is beautiful, and the square is less crowded, allowing for a more intimate experience. We know the ins and outs of this public space and how to find the perfect moment for your vows.
Crowd Management: Jackson Square is a lively public space, and you will have an audience! We will help you navigate the crowds and use the energy of the city to enhance your photos, not detract from them. Don’t be surprised if onlookers congratulate you—New Orleans loves a wedding!
What to Wear: Comfort is key! We encourage attire that makes you feel amazing and authentic. Just a heads-up: New Orleans is a city of historic charm, not perfect pavements! The cobblestone streets and uneven sidewalks of the French Quarter can be tricky, so be sure to choose footwear that allows you to walk and 2nd line parade comfortably.
This is just an example of what your day could look like. The real magic is in the moments we don’t plan.
10:00 AM: Let the Adventure Begin! We’ll meet you near Jackson Square to begin your ceremony.
10:15 AM: Your Intimate Ceremony. Your officiant will guide you through your vows with the majestic St. Louis Cathedral as your witness.
10:45 AM: Newlywed Photos! We’ll explore the beautiful area around the square, capturing photos with the iconic historic buildings as your backdrop.
12:00 PM: Time to Celebrate. Enjoy your first moments as a married couple! Head to a world-renowned restaurant for a celebratory meal, grab beignets, or simply soak in the lively atmosphere of the French Quarter.
With over a decade of experience creating unforgettable elopements, we know this: your day should feel like you.
We Know the Square: We’ve photographed dozens of elopements at Jackson Square. We know the best angles, the best times, and how to find those private moments in the heart of the city.

EXCELLENT Based on 90 reviews Mehgan Sapphire2025-11-19Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. When our wedding plans changed, eloping kept whispering to my husband and I. With three weeks of our set vacation, I found Marcia and so glad she was able to accommodate. It was my first time in NOLA, and my hubby’s 2nd but prior to COVID. The city was new to us and we had no idea where to do start with eloping. Not only did Marcia give us recommendations for officiants she also offered the perfect spot for our vow exchange during Halloween weekend. For those wanting a low maintenance, less stressful way to say I do, definitely say YES to iBay! Our photos came so quickly we really didn’t expect them until after the holidays, they came out perfect. Also choose the option to take on the city with her during your shoot, Marcia will layout the perfect hours and get lost in capturing your love! Marcia is amazing, and I recommend eloping in New Orleans to everyone. Kyle McGill2025-10-20Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Marcia and her daughter were the photographers for our elopement and they were awesome. Aside from the stellar photographs (got our b/w photos day after), we also leveraged Marcia's network of other services. Through her we got connected with our officiant, baker, and florist that made our special occasion so magical. Tyler Crenshaw2025-10-19Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Marcia went above and beyond to make our engagement shoot unforgettable. We did a surprise sunset sail proposal, and she cleverly disguised herself as a deckhand so my fiancée wouldn’t suspect a thing. From start to finish, her communication was amazing, she helped plan every detail and made the process effortless. The photos turned out absolutely stunning, perfectly capturing the light, emotion, and setting. Her professionalism, creativity, and attention to detail were outstanding. I can’t recommend Marcia and Ibay Photography enough to anyone looking for beautiful, natural photos and a photographer who truly cares about her clients. Thank you, Marcia, for making our engagement so special and giving us memories we’ll cherish forever. Tandia Graves2025-10-19Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. If I could give 5000/5, I would! What an incredible and unforgettable experience. Marcia took the time to map out every detail of our elopement to make it so special and meaningful. There was absolutely zero stress, which meant we could truly enjoy every moment of our big day. City Park was a stunning setting, and Sandy (our officiant) and Marta (violinist) took the time to ensure everything was so lovely and personal to us. The cake and florals were perfection. And the photos still bring tears to our eyes thanks to Marcia and Krislyn's expertise. Not only that - but New Orleans was the most magical, welcoming, and beautiful city we have ever visited. Marcia, thank you for making our dreams come true. We are still on cloud nine! Crystal Youmans2025-10-10Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. Marcia is wonderful. Marcia arrived promptly at our location and immediately made us all feel comfortable on our special day including myself, wife, our family and especially our three little ones under the age of 4. Those with toddlers know it can be a challenge to get the little ones to cooperate taking pictures lol. Marcia is also patient and has a good eye for the little details, would definitely recommend her. Adam Foutty2025-07-26Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My wife and I absolutely loved working with Marcia at Ibay photography. Her followup is impeccable, her counter parts Sandy the officiant, was phenomenal! The cake and flowers were exactly as we requested. It was a genuine pleasure throughout the entire process. Definitely recommend this company!
There’s no place like Jackson Square when it comes to saying “I do” in New Orleans. Here’s why couples love it for their elopement:
Historic Charm
You’re surrounded by the St. Louis Cathedral, Creole townhouses, and that classic French Quarter architecture, basically, history everywhere you look.
Romantic Atmosphere
Street musicians playing, carriages rolling by, the Mississippi River just steps away, it doesn’t get more New Orleans than this.
Amazing Backdrops
From the cathedral to the gardens to the cobblestones, every corner is photo-ready (and your gallery will thank you).
Walkable + Convenient
Hotels, great food, cool local vendors, everything you need is right here, no Uber required.
Yes, a permit is required to hold a wedding ceremony of any size (even if just you two) in Jackson Square. You must apply through the City of New Orleans Parks and Parkways Department. Only the paved areas of the Square can be used, and specific rules apply regarding setup and music. Happy to answer any further questions and provide the link to permit application 🙂
Groups of any size (2 – 200) people. While Jackson Square can accommodate larger gatherings, it’s best suited for intimate ceremonies. If you plan to have chairs, there’s a limit of 100, and they must be set up and removed within a specific timeframe. We’d love to photograph your intimate ceremony under 25 guests – that’s our specialty!
Amplified music is not allowed in Jackson Square. However, a small ensemble of 3-4 musicians may perform up to three selections during the ceremony or even better a solo violinist for a perfect romantic ceremony!
To legally marry in New Orleans, you need to obtain a marriage license from the Orleans Parish Marriage Office. There is a 24-hour waiting period between the issuance of the license and the ceremony, which can be waived by a judge for non-Louisiana residents. Ask us for a list of documents needed to apply.
